Sant’Egidio alla Vibrata (Teramo), June 17th, 2024. The participation at the Val Vibrata Kartodrome is excellent for the event marking the halfway point of the Italian ACI Karting Championship, with a strong turnout in all categories and the arrival of new contenders making the 2024 Italian Championship even more interesting in the third event of the season. After the great success in the first two rounds of the campaign, with 224 drivers at Triscina and 214 drivers at La Conca, the third event at Val Vibrata is also expected to exceed the 200-driver mark.

On the historic circuit in Abruzzo, from Thursday, June 20, the usual categories will take to the track for the first free practice sessions, from the smallest MINI in the two Gr. 3 and Under 10 divisions, to the two direct-drive federal categories OK-N and OK-N Junior, and the more powerful KZ2, which on September 1, on the same track, will face the challenge in the second and final round of the FIA Karting European Championship. The program continues on Friday with qualifying, Saturday with the heats, and Sunday, June 23, with the double finals broadcast live on TV.

In the first two rounds at Triscina and La Conca, a total of around 300 different drivers participated.

KZ2 - The 2023 Champion Orlov is on track too.
In the premier KZ2 category, the 2023 Italian champion Maksim Orlov, with Modena Kart, is also competing, ready to join the fight at the top, which Cristian Bertuca has so far dominated with the LG Motorsport team, who achieved a clean sweep at Triscina and a third win at La Conca. Orlov will race alongside another key player in the Italian Championship, Alessio Piccini, winner of the fourth final of the Championship at La Conca, tied for third place in the standings with Maximilian Paul from the DR team, and behind Michael Barbaro Paparo, an excellent second in the rankings with the Monster K Factory team. Among the sure contenders at Val Vibrata is also the Swedish driver Viktor Gustafsson, the 2022 world champion, racing with the official CRG team. Also worth watching is the performance of the very fast Zoe Florescu Potolea, who made it to the podium at La Conca and is increasingly among the frontrunners with Antonio Mancino's KCS team.

The most prominent rival to the Italian driver, who races on a Tony Kart powered by TM Kart, is the Polish driver Karol Pasiewicz with the Novalux team. Pasiewicz won race 2 at La Conca with a Lenzokart chassis and LKE engine. It is a great duel from a technical standpoint as well, between TM Kart and LKE engines, complemented by excellent performances from other contenders with different engines, such as Manuel Scognamiglio, powered by Iame with the Tellone Motorsport team, and the Polish driver Bartosz Grzywacz, powered by Vortex with the KGT team, the 2022 Italian champion in Rok Senior.

The junior OK-N category is quite competitive. His lead, however, is only one point over the Australian Sebastian Eskandari-Marandi, racing with the Ward Racing team with a Vortex engine, who joined the championship in the second round, and four points over another strong contender, the fast Ilia Berezkin, who also joined at La Conca with an excellent victory in race 1 with the Monster K Factory team with a TM Kart engine. There are many other contenders in this category, such as the top-ranked drivers: Michele Orlando (DR team with Modena Engines), winner of race 2 at Triscina; Cristian Blandino (Kalì Kart with TM Kart engine); and Pietro Bagutti (Gamoto team with TM Kart engine).
